VERY INCLUSIVE PEOPLE OF THE MONTH
This month's VIP is Leap For Ladies, a Florida-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping formerly incarcerated women with practical employment skills and mentorship during re-entry.
Their mission states: “LEAP empowers women who have experienced incarceration through transformational opportunities and advocacy.”
If you would like to get involved and make an impact, there are a number of ways you can participate in this great project. You could apply to become a mentor, host an event, mentor, offer employment opportunities, or donate.
They even have a local thrift shop in Little Havana called Dragonfly Thrift Boutique and proceeds fund their mission.

Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
For this month's reading nook reco- I am sharing one of my favorite novels. This one is so good, even the “I don’t readers” will make it to the end!
"Americanah" is a beautifully written and insightful novel by award-winning Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
The story follows the lives of two young Nigerians, Ifemelu and Obinze, as they navigate their way through love, race, and identity in Nigeria and America. Adichie's prose is powerful and poignant, and her characters are fully realized and deeply human. Adichie offers a rich exploration of the immigrant experience, the African diaspora, the intersection of race and class, and the complexities of relationships across cultures.
